A locket is a necklace that opens, and you put something inside it yourself: a photo, a fingerprint or footprint, or a few printed words. The outside is engraved, and only the person wearing it sees what is inside. You design the template for the insert on our website, free of charge and in your browser, and your picture is not uploaded in the process.

Your picture doesn't leave your browser
The template designer is free and works without an account. What matters more to many people: nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored, and we never get to see your photo. Your own device does all the processing.
At the end, you download a sheet measuring 10 by 15 centimetres with several cut-outs marked by dashed cutting lines. You print it like a normal photo, for example at a dm or Rossmann photo kiosk, cut it out and put it in.
The contents can always be swappedYou can create a new template at any time, even months after your purchase: a new photo, a fresh imprint, different words. No need to buy again, and no extra charge. The locket can be opened as often as you like.

The right occasions for a locket
A locket is usually chosen when it is about a particular person rather than an occasion. We see it most often for Mother's Day, after a birth and for anniversaries.
A second, quiet reason comes up regularly: remembering someone who has passed away, or a pet that was part of the family. A locket is the right form for this, because no one sees what is inside unless the wearer shows it herself.
Which photos work and which don't
The space is small, so the choice of picture matters more than the print quality. Experience shows that four things go wrong:
- Too many faces in one picture. A group becomes unrecognisable at locket size. Use a single face, or choose the 20-millimetre version.
- A dark photo. What still looks fine on your phone disappears in print. Bright pictures with a clear background hold up best.
- A screenshot from a messaging app. Such pictures have already been heavily downsized, and that shows when you zoom in.
- Too much text. If you choose words, the rule is: three large lines are better than eight small ones.

Allow enough roomYou write the card text in your cart, using three fields: greeting, message, signature. In total, around 150 characters fit on the card, including spaces. So that leaves about 100 characters for the message itself.
