For a confirmation, the best gift for a teenager is something they'll still wear at twenty: a bracelet or necklace with genuine natural stones and an engraving on the back, with the religious symbol kept discreet rather than bold. Godparents and close family usually spend 100 to 200 euros, other guests 30 to 80 euros.
These three are the most popular choices with us for confirmation:
Why confirmation calls for different gifts
Anyone standing in front of the congregation at 13 or 14 wants to be treated accordingly. Anything too playful can quickly feel wrong at this age, while anything too grown-up ends up in a drawer. The difference from First Communion is therefore not a religious one, but a matter of age.
| Confirmation | Protestant. Teenagers aged around 13 to 14. They themselves affirm what was decided for them at baptism. |
|---|---|
| First Communion | Catholic. Children aged around eight to nine. Their first time taking Communion. |
Ideas for the younger group can be found in the First Communion guide.
Three things that matter to teenagers
| It has to be wearable | At this age, only what suits their own style gets worn. Better simple and high-quality than flashy and themed. |
|---|---|
| The symbol can be quiet | A cross or an angel is fine, but it doesn't need to dominate. Many teenagers like it when the meaning sits on the back instead of the front. |
| Quality counts | Genuine stones, 925 silver, clean craftsmanship. A piece that still looks good in ten years will still be worn in ten years. |
Who gives how much?
| Godparents and close family | 100 to 200 euros. Often combined: a sum of money for whatever the teenager wants themselves, plus a smaller piece that lasts. |
|---|---|
| Grandparents | Similar to godparents, often the larger individual piece. |
| Other relatives and friends | 30 to 80 euros. |
These amounts are therefore higher than for First Communion. That's down to age, not the occasion.
More pieces with genuine stones
For this occasion, we deliberately work with genuine natural stones rather than sparkling zirconia. They feel more grown-up and suit a celebration that marks a transition. What's used is stated on each product page.
Genuine StonesUnlike our birthstone pieces, which are crafted with sparkling cubic zirconia, these use genuine natural stones. Pearls and moonstone are more delicate than cubic zirconia. It's best to apply perfume and cream before putting the piece on.
What rarely suits a confirmation gift
- Childish motifs. What went down well at communion can quickly look too young four years later.
- A religious symbol that's too large. Many young people prefer to wear their faith more discreetly. A small cross or an engraving on the back usually works better.
- Just money. Sensible, but nothing remains in hand on the day itself. Most people combine it with something else.
- Something that ignores their personal style. Anyone who never wears silver won't wear a silver keepsake either.
What gets engraved
Most often the name, frequently with the confirmation date on the back. A short confirmation verse or the initials also work well. With many designs, the engraving can be chosen on both sides: discreet on the front, personal on the back.
What goes on the card
These are the lines our customers write themselves most often:
- For your confirmation, all the best on every path you take.
- We're proud of you.
- Go your own way. We're always here for you.
- Stay just the way you are.
- Only the best for you.
Allow enough spaceThe message is written in the cart, in three fields: Greeting, Message, Signature. Together, around 150 characters fit. That leaves about 100 characters for the message itself.
Frequently asked questions about confirmation
What do you give as a confirmation gift?
Lasting gifts with a personal touch are popular: a bracelet or necklace with engraving, often featuring a discreet cross or guardian angel. At this age, what matters most is that the piece suits the recipient's own style and is actually worn.
How much money do you give as a confirmation gift?
Godparents and close family often give between 100 and 200 euros, while more distant relatives and friends give between 30 and 80 euros. Many combine a sum of money with a smaller piece that lasts.
What is the difference between confirmation and communion?
Confirmation is Protestant and involves young people around 13 to 14 years old. First communion is Catholic and usually takes place at around eight to nine years old.
Are the stones real?
Yes, in our confirmation pieces: freshwater pearls, moonstone and sunstone are genuine natural stones. For the birthstone designs, on the other hand, we work with sparkling cubic zirconia. What's used is stated on every product page.
What do you give a boy as a confirmation gift?
A simple bracelet or a matt-finish necklace, with a small cross and the engraving on the back. Dark natural stones such as obsidian or tiger's eye often go down better with boys than lighter ones.
When should you order?
Confirmation dates usually fall between March and May. We need 3 working days for the engraving, plus delivery time. So in spring, it's best to order two to three weeks in advance.
More occasions and recipients can be found in the gift guide. What the individual natural stones mean is explained in the gemstone guide. Engraving is done by us in Hamburg.

Hallo,
Besten Dank
