What is a photo locket?
A locket is a small piece of jewellery that you can open. Your engraving on the outside, your photo on the inside – the face that's on your mind all day anyway. Your child. Your mum. Your dog. The person who is no longer here.
No one sees it but you. That's exactly the point: you open it when you need it, and the rest of the time it's simply a beautiful necklace.

The photo template costs nothing – and your photo stays with you
Normally, the fiddliest part of a locket is cutting the photo to size: how big does the picture need to be, and where do I cut? We answer that question for you.
On the product page, you'll find the button “Create a printable photo template”. Your photo is automatically sized to fit your locket – all you do is slide it into place. The result is a ready-made 10 × 15 cm sheet with several cut-outs and dashed cutting lines.
Your photo never leaves your browser. We don't get to see it, and it isn't attached to your order. And you can create the template at any time – even after the necklace has arrived.
New: the template can do more than photos. You can also choose a photo of a fingerprint, handprint or footprint – your baby's, for example – and use two sliders to turn it into a clear, print-ready graphic. Or you can write a few words, choose one of seven beautiful fonts and tuck them into the locket like a little letter. An imprint or a heartfelt line – a keepsake only you know about.

The engraving is already included
With our photo lockets, engraving on one side is included in the price – you pay nothing extra for it. Engraving both sides costs €10 more.
You decide what goes on it: a name, a date, the coordinates of your place, a Roman numeral, a floral wreath around an initial, a family monogram of up to five letters – or simply a small symbol. Heart, star, paw, infinity sign: choose the one that's yours.
As you design, you see your engraving on the pendant straight away – at actual size, in the font of your choice. No guessing, no “let's see how it turns out”.

A photo locket is the oldest form of personalised jewellery – and still the most personal. At VIVIANNA, you get both in one piece: on the outside, an engraving, for all to see; on the inside, a photo, yours alone. Engraving on one side is included in the price, and the matching photo template comes free.
Insert your photo – no measuring, no uploading
On the product page, you crop your photo yourself and download a ready-made print template. It is sized exactly to your locket, comes in 10 × 15 cm format and contains several cut-outs – in case you change your mind later. Your picture isn't uploaded anywhere; it stays in your browser. You can print the template anywhere there's a photo kiosk.
Instead of a photo, there's even more you can do: turn a fingerprint, handprint or footprint into a clear graphic – a lasting keepsake of your baby or a loved one – or place a few words in beautiful lettering inside the locket. Open, read, smile.
You decide what's inside – today and again whenever you like
You put the insert in yourself, and that's intentional: the right to fill your locket stays with you. You can create a new template free of charge at any time – a new photo, a fresh imprint, different words – print it out and simply swap the contents. Whatever you fancy, whatever your mood or stage of life: the first photo of your grandchild, a holiday snap from the summer, a new heartfelt line. Frequently asked questions about the photo locket
How do I get my photo into the locket?
You do it yourself – and it really only takes a few minutes. On the product page, click “Create a printable photo template”, choose your picture and drag it into place. Then download the template, print it as a 10 × 15 cm photo, cut out a section along the dashed line and place it inside. Done.
Can I put in an imprint or text instead of a photo?
Yes, both. The template on the product page offers three options: Photo, Imprint and Text. For an imprint, simply take a photo of a fingerprint, handprint or footprint – two sliders turn it into a clear black-and-white graphic that you print out just like a photo. For text, write a few words, over several lines if you like, choose one of seven fonts and place it in the locket as a small insert – like a mini letter only you know about.
Do I have to upload my photo to you?
No. Your photo stays entirely on your device – it isn't uploaded, isn't stored and isn't attached to your order either. We never get to see it. The cropping happens right in your browser.
What size does my photo need to be?
You don't need to worry about that. The template automatically works out the size for your exact locket – there's nothing to measure and nothing to convert. An ordinary phone photo is all you need.
Where's the best place to print the template?
The easiest option is a photo kiosk at dm or Rossmann – as a perfectly ordinary 10 × 15 cm photo. Important: print at original size, not “fit to page” or “scale to fit”, otherwise the cut-out won't come out right. A home printer works too; the photo will just be a little less durable.
Can I change the photo later?
Yes, as often as you like. There are several cut-outs on one sheet, and you can create the template again at any time – even months after your order. The locket can be opened again and again.
Does the engraving cost extra?
With our photo lockets, engraving on one side is included in the price. If you'd like both sides engraved, it costs €10 more. For the mini locket with birthstones you can also choose between “without engraving” and engraving.
What can I have engraved?
Names, dates, coordinates, Roman numerals, a family monogram with up to five letters, a floral wreath around an initial – or a symbol such as a heart, star, paw or infinity sign. You can also combine text and a symbol. As you design, you see the result on the pendant straight away.
Do two photos fit in one locket?
Our lockets hold one photo. If you want to bring two people together, there are two lovely ways: put in a photo of them together – or have the locket engraved on both sides, with the second person on the back.
Is the locket waterproof?
The stainless steel lockets are waterproof – washing your hands, rain or sport won't harm them. 925 sterling silver is more delicate, so it's best to take it off when you shower. The photo inside is paper: that's why the locket shouldn't go swimming or into the sauna with you.
How long does delivery take?
Including 2–3 working days for production, standard delivery takes 5–7 working days within Germany,
8–10 working days to Austria, 9–12 working days to Switzerland
and 8–12 working days to the rest of Europe.
